A Duthman is an expert in complaining. Complaining about the weather, the neighbours, the traffic, the gouvernment, the foreign people, the locals, the adolescents. It's also hot to complain about the television, too many commercials, too many reality programs.

I would like to show you the other side of life, the one that brings joy and pleasure. Go for a walk or make a ride on your bycicle. And see how lovely nature can be, especially when you live in Holland. We have so many meadows, ditches, the various colors of the leaves when we have a changing of the seasons, the young animals in spring. Watch the stormy clouds in winter, the lovely pink and and yellow tones of a sunrise. Nature is gordious!

Holland may have a gordious nature, once a year we travel to the Algarve in Portugal. The Algarve has lovely beaches, not crowded but deserted. Every day we go for a long walk along the beach, with the wind in our hair and only the sand, the ocean and eachother. These are the moments that you feel a piece of paradise.

The only thing I do not like about Portugal is my own weight when we get back! And not only my bodys weight, my trunk is also much too heavy. It contains all kind of shells and stones that I pick up from the beach.
