Dreams and out of the body experiences

dreamland

"Consider your dreams as exciting and thrilling movies.
Sometimes you're the actor that plays the leading part.....
and sometimes you're the watcher, under the spell of the story"

Ever since I was a little girl, my dreams were intriguing me. They surprise me every night again. Sometimes they take me to such dark and spooky places with creepy creatures, that the only thing I want is to do is to wake up! Other dreams show me joyfull worlds full of light and everything seems to glow. I am a lucky person because I'm able to remember almost all of my dreams. Not everyone is capable of doing that. I often hear people say that they didn't dream at all. But that's not true, everone dreams, but not everyone can remember it. Most of the time I have ordinairy dreams, all kinds of things pass by at night, things I saw on television, things I read in the papers, things I talked about with other people. Once in a while a have a predicting dream. And almost every time my dream contains symbols. Those symbols tell me what I need to do the following day. Sometimes it occurs to me that when I am trying to solve a problem, I get the solution in my dream. This is how my website is accomplished. I didn't know where to begin and I had read in a magazine that it was usefull to mention your problem two times just before you go to sleep. And then your mind will do the work while you are sleeping. So I tried this advice. And this is the result. (I hope you like it)

a poem - a moonlit landscape

In the list right next to this page you can read on one of my weblogs lucid dreams and OBE about my own personal experiences with lucid dreams and out of the body experiences. In my youth my teachers used to call me "Reny the dreamer". At the end of the school year, they always put a comment on my marks list: "Reny is a dreamer" Sometimes I felt the need to put my own comments right under it, but I never had the nerve to do it. I was kind of shy at school. But the teachers were probably right about my daydreaming. I could not keep my concentration on matters that I considered as boring. Who cares in which year Carl the Great was king? It is not that I hate history, but that kind of details are not interesting for me. What they did not teach us was how the political situation was in Indonesia after world war II. How the prisoners of war were treated in the Japanese quarters. Just a slight of information about the period that Indonesia was a colony of the Netherlands. But I was curious to hear about that kind of history, because Indonesia was my native country. In the page about culture you can read more about my thoughts concerning this subject.

I want to dedicate this page to lucid dreams and out of the body experiences. My daughter Linda once gave me a book for my birthday, the book is written by David Fontana and it is called: "The hidden language of the dream". It contains the history of dream analysis. You can read about the basic principles of dream explaination. The range of ideas of Freud en Jung are coming up for discussion. It is a fascinating book to read. It also tells you that the symbols in your dream might have different meanings. Water for instance is being associated with emotions. If someone dreams that he is swimming in an open sea, it could mean that he is drowned by his feelings. But if those feelings are negative or positive depents on the the dreamer. How was he feeling at that particular moment? Did he feel threatened and swallowed by the sea or did he feel peacefully and free because he was gently floating on the water, not blocked by the gravity? This is just a little example where you have to pay attention to if you want to explain your dream. I am not pretending to be a dream expert, but I have learnt a lot by paying attention to my dreams. I want to make this page interactive. If you feel the need to tell me about your dream, feel free to do so.
